CITIZENSHIP

Only entries created by professional and student graphic designers of Filipino citizenship will be eligible for entry. In case of disputes, proof of citizenship may be requested by the Organizers and failure to submit the same may be considered a ground for disqualification.

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES

PGDA shall provide separate categories for entries from professional graphic designers and graphic design students (see Categories).

An entry by a professional graphic designer submitted for any of the Categories for Professional Graphic Designers (or "Professional Categories") must have been created pursuant to a full or part-time employment arrangement or engagement as an independent contractor or commissioned artist. In case of disputes, the Organizers reserve the right to require proof or documentation of the employment or service agreement and/or remuneration received pursuant to such arrangements. Note this guideline excludes an entry for Category 7, Self-Promotion (Single-Piece Entry) – Professional, if created solely to promote a professional graphic designer's own work.

PGDA understands that the employer or client may, under the contract of employment, have ownership of the intellectual property over the works created pursuant to the employment or services agreement. In this respect, the professional graphic designer who wishes to submit such works must also present a written consent from his/her employer and/or client allowing him/her to submit an entry to the PGDA and acknowledging him/her as the author of the work.

An entry by a graphic design student submitted for any of the Categories for Graphic Design Students (or "Student Categories") must have been created as artwork in fulfillment of school or academic requirements, or created for any school-based activity. In this respect, a graphic design student who wishes to submit an entry must present a proof of enrollment or a written certification issued by the academic institution certifying his/her status as a full-time student. If a graphic design student created an artwork as an independent contractor or as a commissioned artist, the piece may be eligible for submission to any of the Professional Categories, and must therefore comply with guidelines for Categories for Graphic Design Professionals.

An entry for the Open Categories can be any graphic design piece created by a professional or a student as a form of self expression. Submission of an entry for these categories does not require proof or documentation of the employment, service agreement, course requirement or school activity, nor written consent from the employer or client. Additional guidelines for submission are provided in Submissions.
